  1. Hi Dr. Wicks,

Thanks for this tremendous resource. I was wondering if you have another specialized list up your sleeve to critique dramatic performances. I recently started watching the reality TV show, 演员的诞生, featuring Zhang Ziyi as a judge, and I have to say I'm getting lost with a lot of the specialty jargon regarding acting technique and critique of it.

I'm an aspiring writer-director based in NY but would love to transition to the Taiwan/Chinese scene some day and I find this show incredibly useful but would love a word list to make it for much smoother comprehension. I'm a Mandarin heritage speaker at the HSK 2-3 level and an argument could be made that I should accrue another 1000 characters in general vocabulary before diving into specialty language but I think something could be said for engaging in consumption of material that one finds inherently interesting beyond the stock scenarios typically covered at this language learning stage. Any leads would be immensely appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Isaac
